Tuesday Trivia – Math Trivia

18 Jan

You saw the headline and kind of freaked out didn’t you? Well there is no need. The questions are going to be multiple choice, and they are easy for quilters (if not then you can look them up)!

All you have to do is submit your answers to contest @ sewflakesfabrics (dot) com. Everyone with the correct answers will be entered into a drawing for the prize. Since this is getting out late you will have until Friday, January 21st at noon to get your answers in.

The Questions:

1.) What are the approximate dimensions of a fat quarter?

  • a. 18″ x 22″
  • b. 17″ x 21″
  • c. 19″ x 23″
  • d. 16″ x 20″

2.) A charm pack consists of squares of what size?

  • a. 4.5″
  • b. 5″
  • c. 5.5″
  • d. 6″

3) A layer cake consists of squares of what size?

  • a. 9″
  • b. 11″
  • c. 10″
  • d. 8″

4.) Your pattern calls for 14″ of fabric. What yardage should you purchase to have enough?

  • a. 5/8 yard
  • b. 3/8 yard
  • c. 1/4 yard
  • d. 1/3 yard

5.) Saying your ruler doesn’t slip how many 2″ strips should you be able to get from 1/2 yard of fabric?

  • a. 5
  • b. 12
  • c. 9
  • d. 10

See that wasn’t so bad… I hope. :)

Here is what the winner will receive this week. (Please excuse the picture, it is from my phone because I’m awesome at leaving the real camera everywhere, but here at work!)

The prize pack consists of 2 patterns that use Jelly Rolls (2-1/2″ strips), a charm pack, and a ruler that will help you make charm squares from you scraps.

I will post the correct answers and the winner before the end of the day on Friday.

I’m trying to send the answers to this weeks blog, but nothing opens when I type in contest@sewflakesfabrics(dot)com

You should be able to go to your email provider and compose and email with our address being contest@sewflakesfabrics.com. (I put “(dot)” in the post to help avoid spam and other problems. I tried emailing you directly, but it said the email you included in this post was nonexistent. Let me know if you have any other problems or questions. Thanks, Trina
